Auxiliary luncheon is Monday:

Molly Leinen, Respiratory Care, will present the program “Sleep Better” at the Lake Region Healthcare Auxiliary luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Monday in the hospital's lower level conference room.

All interested area men and women are invited to attend to become an auxiliary member and/or a hospital volunteer.

Volunteers are welcome at any time. Anyone interested in volunteering at the hospital is encouraged to contact Jeanne Jensen, volunteer manager, at 736-8247.

ASC receives memorials:

The West Otter Tail chapter of the American Cancer Society received the following memorials from September through January honoring: Curt Neubauer, Karen Johnson, Willis Schoening, Linda Kinder and Dean Corrick.

NYM plans after-prom party:

The New York Mills junior class and their parents are reminded it is time to begin thinking about the upcoming Junior-Senior prom and chemical-free after-prom party, scheduled Saturday, April 25 this year.

Juniors and their parents plan, organize and sponsor the chemical-free after-prom party, which immediately follows the prom, in cooperation with the NYM Community Education.

An organizational meeting is planned at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, in the NYM school commons.

Anyone unable to attend the meeting, but wishing to help may contact Charlene Norton at 385-2671 or 639-2162.

Home Buyer workshop planned:

Attend a Home Buyer Educational Work Shop to find out if homeownership is possible for you now.

Classes are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, in Fergus Falls. For more information, contact Cookie Nelson at 739-3011

Another class is scheduled from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, March 24 and 26, in New York Mills. Contact Dana Patsie at 218-385-2900 Ext. 108

Participants will learn if they are ready to buy a home, how much they can afford, how to qualify for a mortgage loan, how to eliminate barriers to homeownership and what mortgage assistance programs are available.

Ask about pre-counseling, an option to get individualized counseling and support.

Home stretch is a collaborative effort between Otter Tail-Wadena Community Action Council Inc., Home Ownership Center and local housing professionals.
