A 13-year-old boy died Wednesday afternoon after being trapped in a corn-filled grain bin on a farm southwest of Herman in Grant County, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy, Mitchell Doyle Kleindl, was transported to a hospital in Morris after he was found unconscious and unresponsive in the grain bin. Attempts to resuscitate him with CPR were unsuccessful. Kleindl was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Grant County Sheriff’s office received a call at 1:37 p.m. that a boy was trapped under a load of corn in a grain bin which was being unloaded.
The Herman First Responders, Herman Fire Department, Donnelly First Responders, Stevens County Ambulance and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to the farm site.
The Grant County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the incident.
