NORTH MANKATO - After an impressive extra inning win against Winona Cotter in the Class 2AA quarterfinals, the Ottertail Central girls softball team's bats cooled off against Hermantown in the semifinals as the Lady Bulldogs were blanked 5-0 Thursday afternoon at Caswell Park.

OTC was able to manage just three hits for the game, compared to 10 for Hermantown.

Carley Nelson once again got the start for the Bulldogs, going five innings, giving up six hits and three earned runs. Aann Bjorklund and Carmen Malmstrom each pitched an inning in relief, with Bjorklund giving up a pair of earned runs. Megan Mullen got the win for Hermantown, going the distance and striking out nine.

At the plate for OTC, Carley Nelson, Lindsay Nelson and Taylor Lundquist accounted for the Bulldogs' three hits. Hermantown had five players with multiple hits, with catcher Ellen Folman leading the team with two RBIs.

OTC will now face off Friday morning against the loser of Pipestone and Minnehaha Academy for third place in Class 2A. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
