Crashes injure three

Published 12:00 p.m., June 10, 2009

Three people were injured in car accidents in the Fergus Falls and Perham areas Monday.

Two teenagers sustained minor injuries when their vehicle slid on a mud-covered road west of Perham around 2:15 p.m. Danara Bernice Lagace, 17, Perham, was westbound on Fort Thunder Road about a half a mile west of County Highway 125 when her Ford Escort began to slide on the road, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office. Lagace lost control of the vehicle, which slid into a ditch and rolled once.

Lagace and a passenger, Tracey Leanne Peshev, 17, Dent, were transported to Perham Hospital by Perham Ambulance. Their injuries were non-life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s office.

In Fergus Falls, one person was injured in a two-vehicle accident at Lincoln Avenue and Tower Road shortly after 5 p.m.

The accident occurred as Diane Falk, 66, of Hankinson, N.D., was making a left turn on to Lincoln Avenue from Tower Road, according to Fergus Falls police. Genevieve Theresa Zuehlsdorff, 19, Fergus Falls, was traveling eastbound on Lincoln Avenue when the two vehicles collided.

Zuehlsdorff was taken to Lake Region Hospital; police did not have an account of her injuries Tuesday. She was cited for driving after suspension, driving without insurance and no proof of insurance.

Authorities returned to the same area around 6 p.m. following a report of another two-vehicle accident, this time at South Tower Road and Ottertail Drive. According to police, neither driver was transported to the hospital, though one person, Alex Leroy Howard, 19, of Fergus Falls, was transported to the Otter Tail County Detention Facility for a Becker County warrant for minor consuming.
