Cyclones go 1-2 at Scheels Tri-City

The Fergus Falls Cyclones U19 boys’ soccer team participated in the Scheels Tri-City Soccer Tournament in Fargo, N.D. on June 19 and 20, finishing with a 1-2 record in pool play.
Red River 2,

Red River, a team with substantial size and speed, was able to keep pressure on the Cyclones much of the game.
With the Cyclones trailing 1-0 and pressing forward to try to gain the equalizer, Red River was able to mount a counter-attack and get their second goal right at the 80-minute mark.
Fergus Falls 4, Minot 2
The Cyclones needed a strong second half rally to come back and defeat Minot .
Minot got on board first with a goal in the 17th minute near the mid-point of the first half.
The Cyclones appeared to tie the game at the 30th minute, but the goal was disallowed on an off-sides call.
Minot came back moments later and scored off a scramble in front of the net.
Despite several scoring opportunities by the Cyclones, Minot took a 2-0 lead into the half.
The Cyclones made a couple of line-up adjustments and got back into the game four minutes into the second half when Jordan Tommerdahl took the ball deep to the left of the net and placed a centering pass back to Tyler Hatfield about 10 yards in front of the net. Hatfield buried the shot and drew the Cyclones within one.
At the 55-minute mark, Hatfield scored his second goal to tie the game on a left-footed shot to the far post.
Tommerdahl converted a penalty kick in the 62nd minute, putting the Cyclones on top 3-2.

Fergus Falls 1
Bemidji scored two goals in the first 35 minutes and took a 2-0 lead into the break and never looked back.
