Walters dominates Morrow in ring
Published 01:49 p.m., June 23, 2009
Fergus Falls native Zach “Jungle Boy” Walters had little trouble in the ring against James Morrow at the Sports Garden in Duluth on Thursday, June 18, winning the fight in the second round after Morrow’s corner threw in the towel.
According to Walters, Morrow came out aggressive in the opening round and threw a number of loopy hooks and jabs.
Walters quickly calmed down and landed several hard power shots, sending Morrow to the mat late in the the first round with a “good combination.”
Walters continued to dominate in the second, landing strong shots to the body and sending a wobbly Morrow to the floor once again.
Morrow beat the count, but didn’t last much longer. Shortly after Walters trapped Morrow in the corner, the fight was ended after Morrow’s corner tossed in the towel.
“All being said, I am happy with my performance,” Walters said. “ I was able to show my speed and power. This is the beginning of a new chapter in my career. Even though Marrow came in heavy on the scales, I spent my training camp getting ready for a fight at 168 pounds.”

Why not write about the boxer from this town with a better professional record than that of Mr. Walters? Andy Kolle also fought that evening and was also victorious.

The record has nothing to do with it. I agree that Andy should have been mentioned regardless..
