A fire that damaged a Pelican Rapids pole shed Thursday night is being blamed on an electric malfunction.

No one was injured in the fire, which occurred along Cross Point Road southeast of Pelican Rapids. According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, firefighters from Pelican Rapids and Elizabeth were called to the scene around 8:20 p.m. after a caller said he was attempting to extinguish a fire in a partitioned pole shed using a garden hose.
