With a wide array of events happening in the area this weekend it can be hard to choose what to do. An excellent way to kick off the weekend and show support for the local Relay for Life would be to check out the activites taking place at the fairgrounds.

Saturday has endless opportunities of entertainment. From the movie “Sin Nombre,” to events at the Red Horse Ranch, it should not be a dull day. To wrap up Saturday, spend some time outside either watching fireworks in Dalton, or enjoying music at the Dalton Street Dance.

Friday, June 26

Get to Know Your Fergus Falls Riverwalk, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., behind Luhman Real Estate on the corner of Lincoln and Cascade avenues, free hot dogs and refreshments

A community pageant hosted by A Center for the Arts with puppetry and pageantry by Heart of the Beast Puppet & Mask Theatre will be held in Roosevelt Park at 12:30 p.m.

Relay for Life will take place this weekend at the OTC Fairgrounds. The grounds will open at 4:30 p.m. with the Underwood Lions serving pork chops. Cancer survivors should meet at 6 p.m. for a group picture. The opening ceremonies will be at 6:30 p.m. with the candlelighting ceremony at 9:30 p.m.

VFW Post 612 will have a steak and casserole dinner for $7 starting at 5:30 p.m. with live music by Fuse to follow at 8:30 p.m.

The movie “Sin Nombre” will be shown at 7:30 p.m. at A Center for the Arts

Saturday, June 27

Relay for Life’s Closing Ceremony and Awards starting at 6 a.m.

The movie “Sin Nombre” will play at A Center for the Arts at 10 a.m.

J.P. Bell will be hosting a cutting at Red Horse Ranch Arena, beginning at 8 a.m.

To celebrate Dalton’s 2009 Summer Festival the Community Club is sponsoring a Fireworks show. The show will be at the ball park and start around dusk.

Dalton Street Dance following fireworks will take place at the Hideout Saloon & Grill. Entertainment by Megan Johnson and Blackbird. The dance will run from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Sunday, June 28

J.P. Bell will be hosting a cutting at Red Horse Ranch Arena, beginning at 8 a.m.
