Ice sends car into house
Published 12:00 p.m., March 31, 2009
No one was injured when slippery roads sent a vehicle into the side of an Underwood house Friday morning.
Denise Elizabeth Mauer, Fergus Falls, was eastbound on County Highway 1 shortly before 10 a.m. when she hit a patch of ice and lost control of her vehicle, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle spun and ran off the road, hitting first a guardrail and then a house at 33638 County Highway 1.
Neither Mauer nor anyone inside the house at the time were injured. The sheriff’s office did not release an estimate of the damage.
