Underwood golf team finishes third at Tipsinah

ELBOW LAKE — The Underwood boys golf team shot their way to a third place finish at the Quad County Conference meet at Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course Monday, firing a 346.

Ortonville took the top spot as a team, carding a 301. The Trojans had four of the top five individual scores in the meet, including a 73 from medalist Jesse Roscoe.

Chokio-Alberta/Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley was the second place team with a 337 score and Tanner Drewelow of C-A/C-G-B was second individually with a 73.

Underwood placed third with a 346, followed by Osakis (348), Henning (349), Ashby/Evansville (357), Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (365), Pillager (367) and Browerville (373).

Bryn Stock, Nick Giese and Charlie Stattleman, all of Ortonville, fired rounds of 76, placing them second, third and fourth, respectively. Sixth place went to Zach McNally of C-A/C-G-B with a 77.

Rounding out the scoring for C-A/C-G-B were Levi Lupkes with an 86 and Brett Blackwelder with a 101.

Underwood received an 80 from Jason Umlauf, an 85 from Brody Bakken, an 87 from John Glesne and a 94 from Brock Fagerstrom.

Henning's team scoring included a 77 from Shane Winkler, a 91 from Dustin Torgerson, and a pair of 92s from Troy Thorson and Patrick Dilly.

For Ashby/Evansville, Jordan Lillemon shot an 88, Garyt Haagenson had an 89 and Jon Quernemoen and J.P. Moe each shot 90's.
