Wadena woman seriously injured in crash
Published 11:53 a.m., November 2, 2009
A 40-year-old Wadena woman suffered serious injuries after a head-on collison Saturday morning on Highway 29 in the northeast corner of Otter Tail County.
Kimmy Hershberger, 40, Wadena, was in serious condition at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo after being airlifted by helicopter from the accident scene.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol: A 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 41-year-old Wayne Paulson of Glenwood slowed to avoid hitting a deer. He accelerated and then lost control of his vehicle on an icy road surface. He skidded into the southbound lane of Highway 29 and struck head-on a 1997 Saturn driven by Hershberger.
The crash came a day after a pickup truck spun out of control on Highway 210 about six miles west of Fergus Falls, leading to a head-on collision that killed sixty-three-year-old Larry Smith and his 89-year-old mother, Bernice Smith of Doran and injuring 58-year-old Peggy Smith.

I really am sick of hearing how people can not control their vehicles and then hurt other people in the process! FIGURE IT OUT, OR STAY HOME!!!!
