Driver faces drug charge

Published 12:00 p.m., November 11, 2009

An Underwood man is facing a drug charge after authorities found glass smoking pipes containing methamphetamine in his vehicle.

According to a criminal complaint, Randal Curtis Huseth, 48, arrived at an Otter Tail County residence March 19 as the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force was carrying out a search warrant at the property. When Huseth appeared very nervous, authorities asked to search his vehicle using a canine. They located two glass smoking pipes, one of which Huseth admitted was his, according to the complaint. The other allegedly belonged to a female passenger. Residue found in the pipes tested positive for methamphetamine.

Huseth is charged with a fifth degree controlled substance crime. A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 16.
