Appraisal scheduled for Pamida lot
Published 07:22 a.m., November 18, 2009
An appraisal of the city-owned parking lot next to Pamida will cost $1,200.
The appraisal will be conducted by Tinjum Appraisal Company over a four-week period, according to Gordon Hydukovich, community development director. The results of the appraisal will be discussed at a city committee meeting Dec. 17.
The Fergus Falls City Council passed a resolution authorizing the appraisal in late October after U.S. Bank showed an interest in purchasing the property. Some business owners on Lincoln Avenue have said they need the parking lot’s free, eight-hour parking for use by customers and employees.

So where will all those misguided hoodlum souls hang out at?

After a comment like that, please tell me that you'll be making time in your busy schedule to go and offer them some guidance. Where would you suggest they hang out? With the constant "change is bad" attitude in this town, there will never be a place for them to hang out.

How about the library? Maybe at their place of employment? There are options.

ffsenorita, back in the day did you use to hang out in front of Skogmo's Cafe?! Don't pretend that there have never been kids hanging around until now.
Personally I think that store owners and employees should quit hanging their cars around on that valuable lot. They can park in the half empty city lots to the north and northwest. That intersection property is worth a lot of money for tax payers if it were sold.

Huh? Skogmo's cafe----Sorry, never heard of that. I never pretended kids haven't hung around until now. Kids hang out, duh.
Yah, I remember the classical music idea! Hahahahaha!

Wow, I just read some of the other comments and realized people take things so seriously. Ever heard of Sarcastic-One-Liners? Yah, my first post was one of those. Really, you think I'd be seriously calling people "misguided hoodlum souls". Joke, get over it.

So is there any talk of Pamida being bought out and being replaced with a more useful service? Loved your comment time to talk, i think that sums up the Fergus mind set "change is bad". My question to those who want a quiet, non progressive, rural town is; whats wrong with Fox Home or Dalton? I'm sure there no one will ever push change and progress upon you, just a thought. I guess Id rather see all the empty down town store fronts turned into bars, kind of like in Whapeton, rather than used furniture stores, but that's just me.

Just to clarify, Lamp05, thank you, but I did not make the above comment. I will not take credit when it's not deserved!

Yah, Lamp05. Maybe we could get a "Dirty O" too. Good times, good times.

"Huh? Skogmo's cafe----Sorry, never heard of that. I never pretended kids haven't hung around until now. Kids hang out, duh."
So either you are too young or you did not grow up here, right? duh!

Yes, I did grow up here. I am born and raised here and am not that young. Old enough to have graduated from college, married, and have a couple kids of my own who will soon be "hanging out". Sorry, don't know Skogmo's cafe. DUH!

I loved when Cooper had his arcade. Lots of misguided hoodlum souls there. j/k

I know that I am not the only one who thinks the bars idea is a great one. I know Jamie Cooper has also mentioned it in some of his more recent posts. Anyone else think its a good idea?
