Trinity Church plans Thanksgiving celebrations
Trinity Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls will observe Thanksgiving in several ways this coming week.
On Sunday, Nov. 22, the members of Trinity will be given an opportunity to become acquainted with the nationwide "Veterans of the Cross" program. The program identifies retired church workers and their surviving dependants
who are suffering from acute financial stress. A small amount of money
is provided to supplement their income in meaningful ways.
In Minnesota North, Trinity has four pastors and their wives who currently need help from the program.
Also on Sunday, Nov. 22, a short message from Rev. Matthew Harrison, the
executive director of Human Care, will be shown to the congregation
following each service. Attendees will be given an opportunity to give a
donation in thankfulness for the years of service from these pastors.
Thanksgiving baskets are also being prepared for some needy members of
the congregation and will be delivered to their homes for their Thanksgiving dinner.
Thanksgiving worship services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at
7 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 26, at 9 a.m. The bell choir will be
ringing on Wednesday evening and the voice choir will be singing on
Thursday.
There is always an open invitation to the public for any and all of Trinity's services. A blessed Thanksgiving is wished for everyone.
LCMC Meeting
There will be a meeting for all those interested in forming a Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) worshipping group in Fergus Falls, this Sunday, Nov. 22, at 6 p.m. at Church of the Nazarene, 1319 N Cleveland Ave. in Fergus Falls.
The meeting is sponsored and hosted by Grace Lutheran Church of Erhard. While there are two other LCMC churches besides Grace in Otter Tail County, members want to to explore the possibility of having one located in Fergus Falls itself.
LCMC is an eight year old Lutheran denomination with more than 200 congregations throughout the world. They are a centrist Lutheran Church body that is firmly committed to the authority of the Bible, and to the Lutheran Confessions as a correct, faithful explanation of the Bible. LCMC rejects the notion that science, personal experiences, and social pressures have equal footing with the Bible.
They hold traditional Christian values about marriage and family. LCMC ordains both qualified men and women as pastors. Congregations have the freedom in LCMC to call pastors of their own choosing, and to develop their own worship styles. LCMC is also concerned about evangelism and is currently creating an exciting church planting program as well as supporting mission efforts across the globe.
The meeting will officially last for an hour. Those wishing to stay for further discussion are certainly encouraged to do so. Some singing, and a short devotion will be included. Refreshments will be served. If you have any questions please call Pastor Mark Jamison at 218.731.0941. May God bless you all with a great Thanksgiving.

When the ELCA began ordaining homosexuals & marrying homosexuals, they gave themselves over to Satan without pretense. If you are a christian, flee from this evil organization. You are disgracing Jesus Christ by sanctioning this abomination with your presence.
