Animal report prompts investigation

Local authorities are investigating a report of 14 cats at a residence in rural Dalton.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous report regarding the animals Thursday. The caller described the cats as having crusty fur with fecal matter attached to their bodies. Sheriff’s officials and staff from the Otter Tail County Humane Society have obtained a search warrant to examine the premises, according to authorities.
