Word Alone meetings

resume on Nov. 7

West Central WordAlone Chapter monthly meetings resume Saturday, Nov. 7, at Trinity Lutheran, Benson, with coffee at 9:30 and program at 10 a.m. An open town hall meeting is planned to discuss responses to recent ELCA assembly decisions, and reexamine WordAlone's future mission.

Women's Missionary

meetings planned

On Saturday, Oct. 31, the LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League) members living in this area will meet in Hoffman at the Zion Lutheran Church for their biannual regional rally. The day begins at 8:30 a.m. with registration and ends at 3 p.m. A catered lunch is planned at noon.

After opening devotions and a Bible study, the program will consist of a presentation of the goals and implementation of those goals by various speakers who have attended the National LWML Convention and Assembly of Leaders this past year.

The LWML is composed of ladies' groups from each of the LCMS churches in the nation whose interests are in serving others as they themselves enrich their own lives. The topics to be presented will deal with the mission work for the bodies and souls of people in need around the world.

The dollar goal of $1,8 million for the next two years was set at the recent National LWML Convention in Portland, Ore.

Other topics will include encouragement for everyone to enrich their lives with more active Bible study, information for expanding human care needs, and avenues of reaching younger church members here in the states and equipping them for more active service in their own localities.
