Published 07:11 a.m., February 22, 2010

Energy Blast Nutrition Club, LLC, is open for business on the southwest corner of Lincoln and Court in downtown Fergus Falls. The business is owned by Tonya and Brian Jeffries and Nikki and Dennis Warren.

A Grand Opening will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, The owners will serve up healthy shakes, each loaded with 24 grams of protein, with essential vitamins and nutrients. A shake ranges from 190 to 230 calories.

Shakes this coming Saturday will be sold for half price. A shake is considered a meal in itself, nutrition equivalent to a 1,500-calorie meal but without all the fat and carbs.

Energy Blast Nutrition Club is what Tonya Jeffries refers to as “a healthy alternative, feeling full and satisfied.”

They’ve opened their place of business in Fergus Falls after seeing three similar establishments thriving in Alexandria, where they are from. Patrons will have several selections to choose from: Fruit Blast, Butter Pecan, Wild Berry, or Chocolate No Bake Cookie,” to name a few.

Each selection, said Tonya Jeffries, “also includes one of four Herbal Concentrate which helps increase your metabolic rate so the body burns fat and keeps you energized.”

Body scan analysis also is offered at Energy Blast Nutrition Club, LLC. This includes measuring body fat compared to lean muscle mass, resting metabolic rates and tips on how to manage calories and lose weight.

The owners emphasize they’re not taking the place of doctors and advice given at clinics. Instead, they said they’ll try to help people understand the benefits of good nutrition which, in turn, helps the body stay strong.

Hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays through

Thursdays and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays.

Free literature is available, among them “Digest and Feel Your Best” with

valuable information about science and cellular nutrition, weight management, targeted nutrition, energy and fitness, etc.

Energy Blast Nutrition Club conducts a 12-week weight loss challenge that has a cost of $35. All of the money goes to the top winners of the challenge. “Each week your wellness coach will go over different topics to help people understand each area of nutrition,” said Jeffries. “We weigh in and measure each participant weekly. Best of all, we help you reach your goals and have fun.”

They will be open for business prior to the Saturday, Feb. 27, grand opening. “If you see that the lights are on, feel free to stop in,” said Jeffries.
