Rollover closes Highway 55 near Wendell

Published 09:38 a.m., January 1, 2010

Highway 55 east of Wendell was closed for a time Thursday after a semi carrying a load of turkey feed rolled over in a one-vehicle accident near Wendell.

At 7:09 a.m. Thursday the Minnesota State Patrol and Grant County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene of the rollover, located on Highway 55 at milemarker 26.

Authorities found a westbound traveling semi driven by Larry Schultz, 45, Deer Creek, was driving a 2007 International semi tracker with an attached 2004 Wali trailer and loaded with turkey feed had gone off the road to the right and rolled onto its passenger side.

The trailer did not lose any of its load, according to The State Patrol.
