Catherine Schleicher, 94, a resident of the Hoffman Good Samaritan Center, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at the Center.
Catherine Mae (Drake) Schleicher was born Feb. 11, 1912, in Dexter, Minn., to Charles and Elizabeth (Dettloff) Drake.
On Sept. 12, 1934, she married Leslie Jacob Schleicher and the couple lived in Austin until retiring to Hoffman in 1973. They made their home on Red Rock Lake.
Leslie died April 17, 1995.
Catherine enjoyed crocheting, especially afghans, embroidering, visiting, camping, watching football and baseball, and watching birds and animals.
She was a member of the Lincoln Lutheran Church of rural Hoffman.
Survivors include her sons, Charles (Ann) of Hoffman and Richard (Carol) of Riverside, Calif.; five grandchildren: Robert Schleicher, Deborah Kinzer, David Schleicher, Vonn Schleicher, and Ryan Schleicher; and 13 great-grandchildren: Caitlin, Devin, Erin, Faith, Cassandra, Elizabeth, Rachel, Taylin, Ellyete, Karagen, Ryan, Victoria, and Michelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leslie; twin sister, Rieka Newman; sister, Hattie Whitaker; and brother, Albert Drake.
Visitation: Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home and at the church one hour before service
Service: 1 p.m. Friday at the Lincoln Lutheran Church, rural Hoffman

Burial: Saturday in Dexter, Minn.
