Agnes Elma Bimberg, 92, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.
She was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Shell River Township east of Menagha in Wadena County, the daughter of Andrew and Selma (Olgren) Niemela.
She married Frank “Eddie” Bimberg on Aug. 12, 1941, in Toad Lake Township at the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church. While Eddie worked in the mines on the Mesabi Iron Range, Agnes farmed and raised her family.
Following a mine accident in 1961, Eddie was forced to retire and she cared for her husband for many years. In 1969, they moved to Fergus Falls where Agnes was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank “Eddie” in 1994; and her siblings: Senia, Sylvia, Ida and Victor.
She is survived by her daughters: Ethel (Arlin) Mindermann of Fergus Falls, Kathryn (Harry) Phillips of Fergus Falls, and Bernice (Michael) Janowiec of Brooklyn Park; sisters: Stella Ollila, Rose Taylor, Elsie Henry, and Lorraine Niemela, all of Minneapolis, Mabel Ronan of Circle Pines, and Eleanor Beachy of Kansas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
