Donald Ramberg, 84, Ottertail, MN

Donald Joseph Ramberg, 84, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Ottertail.
He was born July 14, 1923, in Crookston, the son of Theresa and Elmer Ramberg. He grew up in Erskine and graduated from Mentor High School before joining the Navy and serving in World War II.
He married Lola Viall in 1943 and had two children, Collette and Stephen. He married Marilyn Johnson in l965. They had two children, Shelley and David, and cared for seventeen foster children. Don’s passions included learning, Montana, the outdoors, his poetry and his children.
Surviving Donald are his daughter Collette McMilan of Monarch, Mont.; son Stephen Ramberg of Kasilof, Ark.; a daughter, Shelley Ramberg of Stevensvillle, Mont.; a son, David Ramberg of St. Paul; grandchildren Wendy, Holly, Sage, Shae and Brianna; and a great-grandaughter, Shannon.
In accordance with Don’s wishes, no service is planned. Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
