Alice Peck

Alice Peck, 95, of Pelican Rapids, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.
Alice Helen Hendrickson was born Nov. 25, 1912, in Pelican Rapids, the daughter of Art and Clara (Wick) Hendrickson. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School and then went to Moorhead State Teachers College. She taught country school in rural Pelican Rapids.
On June 14, 1939, she married Ira Peck. Both Alice and Ira farmed in Scambler Township near Pelican Rapids, until retiring in 1974.
They lived on the farm until Ira passed away on Dec. 7, 2001.
She moved to Pelican Rapids, living in Mill Pond View Apartments, until having to reside the last couple years at the Pelican Rapids Good Samaritan Center.
Alice was very proud of all the hard work that she did on the farm. She not only did the housework, but also the physical work in the barn and fields. She loved flowers and always had large flower and vegetable gardens.
She enjoyed when neighbors and friends would stop over for coffee and lunch. Alice played many games of 500 rummy with Ira during retirement years.
She was proud of her grandchildren, Nikki and Cody, and loved them dearly.
Survivors include her son, Patrick Peck of Fergus Falls; two grandchildren: Nicole Kelsey Peck and Cody Patrick Peck, both of Fergus Falls; and one sister, Lillian Lee of Seattle, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ira; a son, Frederick; one brother, Burton; and a sister, Elsie Onsum.
Memorials preferred to Scambler Cemetery and First Congregational Church in Pelican Rapids.
Visitation: Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, at First Congregational Church, Pelican Rapids
