Clarence Johnson, Jr.

Clarence Lloyd Johnson, Jr. 69, formerly of Morris, died Monday, March 3, 2008, in Hemet, Calif., following a long illness.
“Sonny,” was born in Moorhead Nov. 3, 1938, the son of Clarence and Jeanette (Toso) Johnson. His family moved to Morris in 1940, where his father owned and operated the Johnson Grain and Feed Elevator and Johnson Trucking.
He attended school in Morris and was a member of the First Lutheran Church. He drove truck for his father before his enlistment in the U.S. Army and after his service years. He later moved to Burbank, Calif., where he met his wife and worked as a machinist specialist for Menasco until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of 39 years; three children from a previous marriage, David, Sherri and Mark; two granddaughters; one great-grandchild; four sisters, Marjorie Johnson ofGlenwood; Mary (Curt) Ettesvold of Morris; Janet Johnson of Minneapolis; Debra (Chuck) Stadsvold of Starbuck; and two brothers, Emery (Barb) Johnson of Maple Grove; Dennis L. Johnson of Cyrus; 14 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial and private burial at the Eagles Cemeteries' Family burial site in Christine, N.D., are pending.
