Miranda Lahlum

Miranda Lahlum, 93, of Pelican Rapids, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at MeritCare in Fargo.
Miranda Clarissa Evenson was born Aug. 16, 1914, in Wilkin County, northwest of Pelican Rapids. She was the third child out of 10 born to Edward and Christine (Haughtvedt) Evenson. Miranda was confirmed at West North Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Pelican Rapids. After farming in Rothsay for several years, Miranda moved to Pelican Rapids and was a lifetime resident.
On April 25, 2007, Miranda entered the Pelican Valley Nursing Home.
Miranda loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, canning and gardening, and will be remembered for always having the coffee pot on. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Christine Evenson; a daughter, Joan Olson; a son, Clayton Lahlum; two grandchildren, Walter Olson and Randy Olson; and three sisters, Inga Julsrud, Lenora Dalager and Vivian McArdell.
Miranda is survived by her three children, Eldon (Delores) Lahlum of Roseville, Curtis (Karen) Lahlum of Pelican Rapids, and Vern Lahlum of Pampa, Texas; a son-in-law, Walter Olson of Barnesville; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; six siblings, Ernest Evenson of Pelican Rapids, Mildred Honrud of Moorhead, Roy (Janis) Evenson of Pelican Rapids, Hazel Hutchinson of San Gabriel, Calif.; Garnet (Deloris) Evenson of Lake Park, and Arvid Evenson of Pelican Rapids; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime family and friend, Jack Miller of Pampa, Texas; and Mary Hanneman of Yukon, Okla.
Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids
