Bernard Lyle Buehler

Bernard Lyle Buehler, 71, of rural Deer Creek, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.
He was born on April 4, 1936, in Boon Lake Township in Renville County, the son of Peter and Mildred (Splittgerber) Buehler. He graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1954.
On June 19, 1955, he married Alice Pearl Richards in Buffalo Lake. The couple were engaged in farming near Buffalo Lake before moving to Otter Tail in 1974.
In 1979, they moved to rural Deer Creek where they continued operating a dairy farm. After retiring, he met many wonderful people while working at his son’s vegetable stand.
He was a member of United Methodist Church in Deer Creek and served on the church board at the United Methodist Church of Ottertail and on the Ottertail city council.
Hobbies included fishing, dancing, playing cards and enjoying their cabin at Cross Lake.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Alice in December of 2000; a son, Kris, in 2006; two brothers, Robert and Gary; and a granddaughter-in-law, Ivy Buehler.
Berhard is survived by three children, Kay (Jon) Finke of Blaine, Kirk (Debra) of Ottertail and Jeremy and his special friend, Michelle Larson, of Deer Creek; a special friend of his son, Kris, Gail Nelson of Battle Lake; seven grandchildren, Rebeca, Aaron, Adam and Lindsey Buehler, Eric (Rebekah) Finke, Christopher (Amber) Zumski Finke, McKenzie Nelson-Buehler; four great-grandchildren, Cian, Owen and Aidan Buehler, and Jackson Finke; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation: Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at United Methodist Church of Deer Creek and one hour prior to services at the church
Service: 11 a.m. Friday, at the church
