Berdell Tjaden

Berdell Louise Tjaden, 84, died Jan. 1, 2008, in San Diego, Calif.
Berdell was born Oct. 13, 1923, to Axel and Hilda Bergner in Fergus Falls. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School and was a member of First Baptist Church.
She worked as a stenographer and court reporter.
She married Dana Tjaden, also from Fergus Falls, after he was discharged from the Navy in 1946. They settled in San Diego and raised two daughters, Marilyn Hood and Carol Mitchell.
She was a homemaker and was active in her church there, where she and Dana taught Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Philip Bergner.
She is survived by Dana, her loving husband of 61 years; her two daughters; three grandchildren, Stephen Hood, Karen Buetzow and Kristen Fullmore; and one great grandchild, Jared Buetzow.
Graveside services were held at Greenwood Memorial Park on Jan. 4.
