Joyce Grant, 72, Fergus Falls, MN

Joyce M. Grant, 71, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls.

She was born Sept. 6, 1936, in Foxhome, the daughter of Bert and Margaret (Kapell) Johnson. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1955.

On July 2, 1955, she married Donald Grant at Sisseton, S.D. She began working at the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center in 1967, as a Human Services Technician, and was employed as such until her retirement in 1997.

Joyce enjoyed reading, music and dancing, sports, and TV game shows.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Donald Grant; her parents, Bert and Margaret Johnson; brothers, Richard and Robert Johnson; and a sister, Betty Meyers.

Survivors include a son, Scott (Deb) Grant of Fergus Falls; a daughter, Becky Grant of Preston; grandchildren, Casey Grant, Jill Grant, and Matthew Grant all of Fergus Falls, Heather Downie and Brandon Downie, both of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; her siblings, Gert (Russ) Smith, Lois (Otto) Anderson, Jim (Pat) Johnson and John (Bev) Johnson, all of Fergus Falls, and Janet (David) Moore of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Monday, Zion Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
