Amelia Obright

Amelia Obright, 88, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at the Broen Memorial Home.

She was born Aug. 27, 1919, in Melrose, to Sigmund and Annie (Gerner) Eggerth. She grew up and received her education in the Star Lake area.

On June 7, 1938, she married Albert C. Obright at St. James Catholic Church in Maine. They lived in Star Lake Township for 18 years.

In 1955, they moved to Battle Lake, where they lived for 14 years before moving to Fergus Falls. Amelia worked as a cook for various restaurants and also as a nurses’ aide for Otter Tail County and also at the Broen Home.

Albert died on Jan. 14, 1997.

She enjoyed gardening and flower gardening, fishing, embroidery, crocheting and craft work.

She is survived by two sons, Duane (Beverly) Obright of St. Anthony, and Sigmund (Judy) Obright of Coon Rapids; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pearl Erickson of Circle Pines, and Fern Evans of Foreston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; seven sisters; and three brothers.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service

Service: 11:30 a.m. Monday, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls
