Pearl Toelle, 76, Wahpeton, N.D., formerly of Breckenridge, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton.
Pearl was born in White Lake, S.D., on Aug. 19, 1931, to Henry and Amanda (Neisess) Maurer. The family moved to the Tenney, area were Pearl attended school until the eighth grade and moved on to Campbell High School.
On Sept. 29, 1950, Pearl married Robert Toelle in Tyler, N.D. They farmed in the White Rock, S.D., area until they moved to Breckenridge in 1959.
Pearl had a housekeeping, laundry service, and commercial building cleaning business after moving to Breckenridge. In the 1980s she had a daycare in Breckenridge. In 1993, Pearl and Bob retired to Dead Lake near Dent.
Pearl was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Breckenridge and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dent and enjoyed church very much. She was also involved in Bible studies at St. Catherine's Living Center.
One of her pleasures in life was getting a sandwich at McDonald’s. She also enjoyed playing cards and being with children, especially her grandchildren.
Pearl is survived by, her husband, Bob Toelle, Breckenridge; her daughter, Karie (Jerry) Trupka, Breckenridge; her six grandchildren, Brandon Trupka, Cynthia Trupka, Emily Trupka, Michael Schwartz, Patricia Collins, Deborah Monson; her six great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Logan, and Garrett Schwartz and Paige, Triton, and Talon Monson.
She was preceded by her parents, Henry and Amanda Maurer and her daughter, Phyllis (Schwartz) Collins.
Visitation: Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home
