Carroll Stramer, 78, Formerly Ashby, MN

Carroll G. Stramer, 78, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, in St. Paul.

He was born Feb. 23, 1929, to Joseph and Marguerite Stramer, in Ashby.

He retired from Mixon Tire and Battery and Davidson Company.

Carroll was a loving husband, father and grandfather and an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Marguerite; a brother, August; and a grandson Douglas Miller.

Survivors include his wife, Muriel of 57 years; children, Shirley, Jerome (Karen), Barbara Balwanz (Edward), Karen Hackman, Marguerite Edholm, Debbie Suiter (Gary), Judy, Joseph (Carol), Marie Luna (Mark), Raymond (Rose), Matthew (Laurie) and Helen; 27 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers; and extended family and friends. Service: Saturday at Presentation on the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1725 Kennard St., Maplewood

Burial: Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights

Visitation: Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service
