Karrie Okerman, 36, Fergus Falls, MN
Karrie J. Okerman, 36 of Fergus Falls, formerly of Cloquet, died unexpectedly at her home. She was born in 1971, the daughter of Ken and Trudy Okerman. Karrie was a 1989 graduate of Park Rapids High School and attended Lake Superior College where she earned her certification as an occupational therapy assistant.
Karrie was an amazing mother and “best friend” to her daughter, Jayme. She was very artistically talented, enjoyed crafts and decorating, loved to cook and through the years was obsessively fond of her many cats.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Doris Kahara and Majorie Okerman and her great grandmother, Bertha Nissen.
Karrie’s gentle spirit and good heart will be missed by her many family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Jayme of Cloquet; her parents, Ken and Trudy Okerman of Cloquet; a brother, Zach Okerman of St. Louis Park; two sisters, Jaci Okerman (Collin Davis) of Duluth and Megan Okerman (Will Werner) of Cloquet; a niece and nephew, Keegan and Kyla; her grandfather, Unto Kahara of Cromwell; her aunts and uncles, Bruce (Judy) Kahara, Arnie (Bonnie) Kahara, Sue (Kenny) Koivisto, Maryellen (Bob) Zuk and Kathy (Mo) Boudlali; numerous cousins and her long-time friends, Jenn Roos of Fergus Falls and Dan Blesener of Carlton.
Visitation: Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service
Service: 1 p.m. Monday, at Northland Funeral Home, followed by a luncheon in the Fireside Room of the funeral home
