Howard Albjerg

Howard F. Albjerg, 83, of Peoria, Ariz., died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in Peoria.

He was born March 20, 1925, to Edwin and Alma (Paulson) Albjerg in Grand Rapids. The family later moved to Fergus Falls where he grew up. Howard graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1943, and joined the United States Army. He was discharged in 1945, with the rank of corporal.

On June 5, 1948, Howard married Lucille Hanson. They lived in Minneapolis where he attended business college. He worked for Armor Foods, first as purchasing clerk, then became purchasing manager.

Howard and Lucille continued to live the Minneapolis area until his job transferred him to Phoenix, Ariz. in 1978, and to Omaha, Neb., in 1984. He retired in 1988, and the couple returned to Arizona.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille; a brother; and an infant sister.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol (Mark) Nielson of Arizona; sons, Greg (Janet) Albjerg of Apple Valley and Charles Albjerg of California; a brother, Dr. LeRoy (Bernice) Albjerg of Arden Hills; and five grandchildren.

Memorial services and burial were April 7, 2008, in Arizona.
