Students perform in recital - The students of Barb Huffman recently presented a piano/guitar recital at Westridge Mall in Fergus Falls featuring a wide range of musical styles from rock-n-roll to country to jazz to classical. Students range in age from 5 years through adult. Approximately 200 people were in attendance. Huffinan is co-owner of Harmony Studios and has been teaching in the community and surrounding area for more than 10 years. View photo

In December 2006, Paige Holte, Tiffany Thane and Molly McDougall spent two weeks in Guatemala with other youth from Federated Church. Holte will return by herself in early July to work at a school and orphanage. View photo

Military moth - An interesting moth landed on the front door of Investment Realty NW, Inc., in Fergus Falls about 2 p.m. Thursday, and Kurt Torkelson of the investment firm is calling this his Military Moth — in reference to the moth’s camouflage color. Torkelson took the photo with his digital camera. The moth was still in the same place Friday morning. View photo
OTP relay team serves lunch for fundraiser - Carol Affield, left, gives Jadie Dahlen a hot dog during the Relay for Life fundraiser Thursday afternoon. The fundraiser was put on by Otter Tail Power’s Relay for Life team, “Lighting the Way to a Cure.” Team members donated baked goods, and area businesses donated supplies for the barbecue and raised approximately $1,118 for the cause.
