Sign Jeff George....Sign Jeff George...I'm serious this has been floating around the Vikings camp. Only it's not coming from anybody but Jeff George himself.

It seems George is still following football and makes it a point to follow teams that are having quarterback problems. Which this year the list is quite large and of course includes our own Minnesota Vikings.

George has called the Vikings and has offered his services and at first thought I figured he was too old. But come to find out he is younger that Vinny Testaverde, who I think carries an AARP card, and Bret Favre. When I saw that age may not be a problem I had to shake my head to get any thoughts of him coming back out of my mind. I was out of my mind just thinking this is a good idea.

The fact that I stopped those few precious half seconds and actually thought of George quarterbacking the Vikings shows how bad that situation is right now. I have stated before how the pro game seems way over T-Jack's head and Kelly Holcomb actually did us a favor and got hurt. Brooks Bollinger came in the last couple of series last Sunday and did a fine job. But there is a reason Brooks isn't a starting quarterback for somebody and his continued play will only prove the point.

So what are the Viking to do? They should play T-Jack untill he proves to one and all he isn't the man. The only problem with that is the guy can't stay healthy

I hate to say it but the only reason I watch the Vikings now on Sunday is to watch Adrian Peterson. I know he is getting a little too hyped up right now but he is fun to watch. The teams performance is close to driving me outside on a nice day rather than stay inside and get frustrated. We need something besides Peterson to get us excited.

George was a college phenom but did very little to endear himself on his NFL stops.
Crybaby, Prima Donna, Head Case, you can take your pick to explain why George's career was lengthy but unspectacular.
If we're willing to subject our team to this type of speculation, why not get serious and call for a trade?
How bout the possibility of getting Pennington?
If Tarvaris Jackson is our future, they have to play the kid now. Holcolm and Bollinger are both fingers in the dyke.
So, maybe not Jeff George but there are other potential options that could be made to help Jackson in his development.
The first place that I would start would be to solidify that right tackle position. Kleinsasser has not been the blocking TE that could help against the pass rush. If Jackson had a hair's more time, we would be seeing a faster development of the kid and in my estimation, more "W's" on the won/lost record.

While T Jack may one day be a quality N.F.L. quarterback, he obviously is not ready. The problem is, he was hand picked by the ..oh so knowledgeable Brad Childress, who was hand picked by that football genius Ziggy Wolf. Since neither of these two brains will ever admit dont know ... much.. about football ..I fear we are stuck with what may be the worst Viking team we have seen in ages.
In the meantime, I heard Tommy Kramer was in town a couple of weeks ago , maybe hes still got a few games left.
