Obama doesn’t get global terrorism
Published Wednesday, September 12, 2007
I don't believe Senator Barack Obama understands the reality of the global terrorism situation that our next president must deal with.
Last month, an article in the Washington Post, he claimed invading Pakistan, a U.S. ally, might be justified after we retreat from Iraq. That's an approach al Qaeda in Iraq is happy to hear.
In May, after years of preparation, several Muslim terrorist suspects were arrested for planning to ignite the fuel pipeline at the JFK Airport in New York ("New York Times").
The same week, Democratic Presidential candidate John Edwards called terrorism only a bumper sticker slogan. Tell that to the relatives of those killed at the Twin Towers!
Finally, with regard to national security, does any Democratic partisan believe that Hillary Clinton can face-down any patriarchal terrorist leader -— especially since her own husband failed to respond militarily to the Islamic attack (car bombs) on the World Trade Center in 1993'? JFK faced down the Russians over Cuba in the 1960s. Senator Clinton isn't JFK, and the terrorists know it.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Posted by ladysenator (anonymous) on September 12, 2007 at 4:32 p.m. (Suggest removal)
So, how much money were you paid by Hillaryland Inc. and the Arkansas Mafia for this Obama hit piece?
You people tickle me with this he doesn't have much political experience when he has just as much as Hillary and more.
I don't count being the wife of a president "experience" That's just like Laura Bush proclaiming she is going to run for president because she has "experience in being GW's wife" for the last 6 years.
Besides she hasn't passed any major legislation in her what now 7 years in the senate.
She is a divider not a uniter and we don't need another potential whore sacandal from Bill.
I will take good common sense over "DC insider experience" all day long. Then State Senator Barack Obama had the good common sense his momma gave him, to look at the evidence he had at the time and predict down to the "T" what going to war would mean for the US and Iraq.
Senator Obama opposed the war from the beginning while Hillary then newly minted Senator had more intelligence reports to read over before casting her vote. Where was her experience and where was her moral judgement.
It was this "experience" she had that help lead us into war. She blindly went along with Bush's war without reading the intelligence reports behind this. I wondered who she consulted on that one.
Futhermore, unlike the other gentlemen running for president who made the same mistake, she refuses to apologize til this day. Sounds like someone else we know currently in the whitehouse (Pres. Bush aka King Georgie)
We don't need another entitled spoiled and self serving ruler in America. I don't care if she is a democrat or not.
NO MORE BUSH...CLINTON...BUSH.....????

Obama's actual quote was:
"If we have actionable intelligence on al Qaeda operatives, including [Osama] bin Laden, and President Musharraf cannot act, then we should," Obama said. "That's just common sense."
No where in that statement is anything even remotely related to "if we pull out of Iraq, we'll bomb Pakistan."

Must you Liberals fight like this, I love it! In case you didn't notice, both Barack Hussain Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton were both critisized in the article. Way to go Mr. Holley!

Just pointing out the mis-quote, Jerry. I'd do that for anyone who was so poorly mis-quoted, regardless of their political affiliation.

Got it, Thanks! Personally I think Hillary has lots of experience, she had 8 years as a president, and now that as a senator.

I'm afraid a Hillary nomination means more division. Obama is what this country needs. Common sense and cooperation.

What a sad state of affairs we live in, when someone is built up or torn down because of what someone else heard or thought they heard on Fox News. what kind of experience are you looking for, each of these candidates has a lifetime of experience to stand on. Politics is not a career its a service to our country. Rather than look at mis-quotes and pundit party line garbage about division and corruption, why not research the candidates for yourself, and see who they are. Stop listening to Fox News and use Google, do your own homework. After that, then you have a right to come on here and give your opinion about who someone is.
