W. and Company helps man protect himself
Published Saturday, September 15, 2007
If asked, I guess I would consider myself a law-abiding citizen of the United States of America. I certainly have been guilty of some misdemeanor crimes, but never a felony.
I work hard for a decent living a good share of each year and do not even look for ways to legally avoid paying taxes. I just pay what I am told I owe and am content to have enough.
Having said all that, I was much surprised when, innocently, and for the first time in my life, I went to my local Fleet Farm store earlier this year to purchase a 410 single shot, only to find that my Second Amendment right of the Constitution had been infringed. Did this make me feel more patriotic or what? I was so thrilled to have my neighbors think I was a suspected terrorist that I could barely contain my joy. Thank you W. and Co., for protecting me from myself.
Now, like most any child when his or her parents say “no you can’t have that,” I was determined to have what Big Brother said I could not, even though I do not like guns that much. Too noisy and stinky.
But if your enemy has guns, you too, better have guns. So now I’m thinking: If my own government considers me an enemy, and I know they have guns, I better get myself down to the local Black Market where I can buy all the fire power I like and you, daddy, don’t even know what I’ve got.
So, my question is this, Dr. Phil: Do children become better children when we label them “bad?”
Have a happy 9-11 and look out for the boogie man.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Posted by wendies43 (anonymous) on September 15, 2007 at 7:31 a.m. (Suggest removal)
I don't think your article is a bit funny!!! It sounds like you need some anger management counseling. 9-11 is not something to make a joke about, even if you are mad. By the sounds of it you don't need a gun.

God forbid the firearms industry be regulated...
