Otter Tail teams place 25th, 28th

MINNEAPOLIS — Mike Hurley claimed a victory in the Maroon Division’s 200 individual medley Saturday at the University of Minnesota.

The Otters placed eighth in the Maroon Division of the Maroon and Gold meet with 616 points. Wayzata won the 12-team division with 1,043 points. Central Lakes Conference powerhouse Brainerd was second with 908, Moorhead finished sixth with 692.5.

Hurley’s 1:58.42 in the 200 I.M. was the only win the Otters racked up. Hurley also placed third in the 100 breast with a 1:01.41.

Hurley swam the anchor leg for Fergus’ 400 free relay team that placed third with season-best 3:27.72. Joining Hurley were Nathan Jobe, Joel Money and Preston Anderson.

Fergus’ 200 medley relay quartet of Anderson, Hurley, Jobe and Eben Danielson took sixth with a 1:45.71.

Jobe gave the Otters a fourth place finish in the 100 free with a time of 51.55. Danielson was eighth in the 100 butterfly with a 59.03. Money was eighth in the 100 back with a 1:01.55. The 200 free relay team of Money, Nick Wigtil, Thomas Schueller and Nick Ganoe were eighth with a 1:36.42.

The Otters will travel to Willmar Tuesday for a CLC meet before returning to host Brainerd on Thursday.
