I would hope loss of hunting privledges for life, a mental evaluation, and jail time. And possibly community service to help all the waterfowl in the area. What did a harmless goose do to you? If I were your parents I would look at this as a sign. And hopefully you get the help you obviously need.

Do you really think he was trying to kill the goose to eat? If he was the officals would have heard the story from him how he was trying to feed his family or himself. I doubt that is the case. But if it is doesnt anyone know a responsible sportsperson who would give this kid a goose?

while i do believe that obviously there needs to be some sort of punishment, since a law was broken, standard charges ought to apply.

And seriously; with so DARN many geese filthying up this town who doesn't feel like wringing their necks from time to time? but since it is a law, you can't.

sportsmanship has little to do with the population of in-town geese. If you haven't noticed a lot of them NEVER go anywhere to get shot during hunting season and therefore control the population.

While this guy was wrong in what he did; he does illustrate a good point. The city needs to do something about these NUISANCE geese!

Sounds like a case of animal cruelty. Yes the geese in town are horrible, but what if it were some other animal he dicided to do that too, like you cat? It is a sign that this kid has some issues, one of the signs that this could lead him to do some pretty sick things, it starts out as an animal killer, and turns into something worse. And if he did this just for S**ts and giggles, then he needs to find a better thing to do to occupy his boredom. And get punished so he doesn't do something stupid like this again!

Animal cruelty...absolutely!!! And as for the fishing line deal...that too is a crime! People who do these things are sick. It is a proven fact that those who are cruel to animals often go on to be child or spouse abusers, or worse! Hurting or killing a defenseless animal is NOT fun, nor funny! Stories like that make me furious. I have no patience for anyone who is cruel to a child or an animal.

This kid...(Oh wait he is an ADULT.) Obviously he has some real issues if he feels the need to ditch out of class to go and ring a gooses neck down at the levy, where kids and alot of other people in the community go to enjoy the waterfowl.He unlawfully took a migratory bird out of season, as for "upeoplernuts," its because of you that sporstmen have bad light shed on the, and I wouldnt doubt that you have some problems yourself. I know that the DNR will get this "ADULT."Have fun not hunting for a long time, I hope it was worth it.

There were no dead geese found at the levy that day, this is a non-incident. The police were called to the levy to investigate by an over zealous witness and found nothing, end of story!

i was one of the kids supposedly stranglying the geese's necks....i was there when everything happened....The article in the paper was not accurate the goose never died... everything was blown out of proportion.... Thank you to everyone who is defending Adam against this bogus claim. What everyone should realize before getting nuts, is no where in the article does it talk about a DEAD goose. There were none! Sonsty_33.... your comments would have been a lot more effective if you wouldn't have used f*** so much - that so totally takes away from your creditability and makes you look so juvenile. In my opinion, the Daily Journal shouldn't allow the comments that need ***. In mature and sensible talk, Adam is completely innocent of the charges against him and plans to plead innocent. Sometimes when your feeding bread to those tame "city" geese you just think ...wow! that's one long neck...and wonder if you could get close enough to grab it and ring it...well Adam answered this lingering question for all of us. I'd like to thank him for that because once the oil shortage happens and nuclear war breaks out I know where I can get a tasty goose with very little effort...and if there is enough radiation from the nukes...maybe...just maybe that tasty goose will have three necks to ring.

Wow. A person accused of killing a goose (which was not killed) sure can cause a stir in this town. And these days, when somebody sticks up for their friend, they are immediately characterized as individuals in vehement need of mental scrutiny and assistance.
