The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Posted by PRFISHER (anonymous) on April 25, 2008 at 8:34 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Sorry all...I had a feeling I would create this blizzard after I summerized my snowmobiles a couple days ago. I figured it had to be OVER!

It's hardly a "new world of unpredictable weather". We have kids in their 20's - one was born on April 27, and the other on May 3. I remember at least 4 times over the past 25 years that we have had snow for their birthday parties. Unpredictable weather is hardly something new. The world is doing just fine.

I think it's gonna snow because mother nature knows 1/2 of us are out of propane and wants us to pay $5.00 a gallon for it. Can't wait to see what mother nature brings for Thunderstorms this year. We'll probably be hitting the basement a few times this summer. Oh yay ! April is always an upredictable month. Gotta love it !

The world is hardly "going to hell in a hand basket" because we're in a winter storm watch. It's called "weather in Minnesota". Sheesh. Many a fishing opener have been spent indoors playing poker because of this kind of weather.

In Minnesota we must remember the two (2) seasons:
Winter is coming
AND
Winter is here.
Unfortunately winter never seems to leave.

Maybe the world isn't going to hell in a handbasket, but there is a whole lotta snow that could fit in that handbasket! It's called "Sarcasim'..... have you heard of it?
