Wal-Mart expansion delayed

It’s still a waiting game at the Fergus Falls Wal-Mart as the store looks for a green light on its expansion project.
“It’s kind of in a holding pattern,” said manager Tim Bosworth, explaining that the Fergus Falls project is one of many on the company’s construction schedule.
“The proposed completion is 2010,” he said. “They can move it up and they can move it back.”
At one point the Fergus Falls project had been scheduled for March of this year, but a corporate moratorium on construction created a log-jam of projects. Now that construction looks to be resuming again, it’s simply a matter of waiting for Fergus Falls’ turn.
The expansion, announced over a year ago, will result in a 174,000 square-foot supercenter, complete with a grocery store and deli. The project is what’s called a four-wall expansion, Bosworth said, meaning every wall will change in some way. However, the primary growth will be on the building’s north and east sides.
The store will stay open throughout the duration of the project, Bosworth said, though customers can expect to see some changes in where items are located.

I wish they would hurry up already, I can't wait for a SWM to open in Fergus Falls.

I hope it is better than the SWM they put in Wadena...it is small, poorly organized and poorly stocked. From what I've heard Wal-Mart is downsizing the SWM stores. I love the stores in Detroit Lakes and Alexandria....even though they are HUGE, they are well organized and carry just about everything I want.
