Y’s Folks annual salad luncheon is Friday
Published Monday, May 5, 2008
Y’s Folks Club, a YMCA auxiliary, will be celebrating spring and raising money for the YMCA at the “Potting Up Spring” salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, at the YMCA Community Room in Fergus Falls.
Proceeds from the salad luncheon will go towards the purchase of a wheelchair and ramp to be used in the YMCA swimming pool. These items will facilitate easier access into the pool for some individuals.
An added feature of the luncheon will be a display of Swedish weaving. Marjean Hanson will be present to answer questions about weaving and her display of many afghans. Gloria Ronning will provide background music for everyone’s enjoyment.
At least 40 volunteers will set up, wait tables, help in the kitchen, and clean up at the completion of the luncheon. Another 65 members will have donated salads for this event.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Posted by TKay (anonymous) on May 5, 2008 at 1:09 p.m. (Suggest removal)
Please go out and support this fundraiser. The Y's folks do a great job supporting the Y.
