Alumni entering 544 hall of fame

Two new inductees will enter the 544 Education Foundation Board’s hall of fame as distinguished alumni.
David and Tudy Nycklemoe and Dr. Jeff Johnson will be honored tonight as 2008 Distinguished Alumni at the at the Senior Recognition/Hall of Fame Banquet at the Bigwood Event Center.
David Nycklemoe, who graduated in 1956 and his wife Tudy, who graduated in 1957, have been active as volunteers in the Fergus Falls community including serving as president of Rotary and as board members for Hospice, A Center for the Arts, the YMCA, Boy Scouts, and Camp Fire Girls. They have also worked with Dollars for Scholars and the Fergus Falls 544 Education Foundation. David is currently a director of the Farmers State Bank of Underwood and still practices law. Tudy is a trained volunteer advocate for children with learning differences and helps parents, children, and the schools create the best learning environment for students. David and Tudy have three adult children and spend their free time traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Jeff Johnson, a 1980 graduate, is currently a professor at the University of Wisconsin where he has established himself as a leader in the field of neuroprotection and neurodegeneration. He has active projects in the areas of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
