Blood drive a success

How appropriate it is to have sponsored a blood drive as we celebrate volunteer recognition.
We at the American Red Cross wish to thank all the wonderful people who volunteer for our organization. The list includes the donors who give the lifesaving gift of blood, the people who make hundreds of phone calls, schedule appointments, and deliver posters, those who work during the drive and those who prepare and serve food.
Our local churches reach their members, and the media — The Fergus Falls Daily Journal, Shopping News, Lakes Radio and Park Region Phone Company publish our schedule.
The Fergus Falls National Guard allows us to use their facility and guardsmen assist as needed. Lake Region Hospital maintenance crew and Sentence to Serve folks do the heavy work setting up and taking down.
Last but not least we honor 23 new first-time donors along with the 300 regular donors. With the age requirement change after July 1, we hope to see more young people respond to the call during the September collection.
Giving is easy and the gift so valuable. When you give blood to the Red Cross you could change a life, starting with your own.
The support of community is vital to our cause of saving lives. Thanks for your support.
