Vandals leave mess at school
Published Wednesday, June 25, 2008
Vandals broke a window and left trails of paint and popcorn salt along hallways at Eisenhower School sometime between Tuesday afternoon and early Wednesday morning.
Fergus Falls police were called to the school at about 6:40 a.m. today after a report from a staff member involved in the school district’s move. Staff have been moving all sixth grade materials from the middle school to Eisenhower since the school year ended in late May.
According to police, someone squirted Crayola washable paint along the school’s hallways and used it to write on walls. Someone also took popcorn salt from the school’s popcorn maker and scattered it around the building. The door of a refrigerator had been left open and an eastside window was broken from the inside.
The building showed no signs of forced entry and police say a door may have been left open in the course of the move. The vandalism is believed to have taken place between 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the call this morning.
Police say they have reason to believe children are responsible.

Parents..do you know where YOUR children are...or even care? Parents should be held accoutable of their children and know the whereabouts of them at all times.

is there any evidence of children doing this, or are we just assuming that because its a grade school?
I'm glad only a window was broken!, washable paint and popcorn salt shouldn't be too hard to clean up.
who left the door unlocked by the way?

Reason to believe, my ass. Could have easily been a 25-year-old or a 30-year-old.

"Parents should, , , , , know the whereabouts of them at all times." This is a pipe-dream. I doubt any parent knows the whereabouts of their kids at all times, or maybe they think they know where they are. We can only hope for the best. I agree with you but this is one of the most difficult parts of raising kids and it would, will, & never happen. You just have to do your best at raising them. I say take them fishing and/or hunting and teach them to enjoy the outdoors. This seems to be one of many ways to keep them out of trouble.
