Nation’s leaders most corrupt of our history
Published Wednesday, June 25, 2008
Bush and Cheney both need to be impeached. Then indicted, the taken into court like any other common criminals.
In the entire history of this country there has never been two more corrupt and dishonest people in the White House.
Nancy Pelosi's "claim" that impeachment proceedings are off the table are:
1. Not within her power to make that decision. If there is reason to believe these two are guilty and of high crimes and misdemeanors then her job title and oath REQUIRE her to make it happen. And by the way, that's past the point of pondering anymore. It’s a fact!
2. If she doesn't pursue impeachment and continues to protect the guilty.
Then she should be considered as aiding and abetting any charge Bush/Cheney are found guilty of.
3. At a minimum there needs to be a vote to impeach so there will be a written record of every congressman and senators votes regarding impeachment. Pelosi and the rest of the spineless democrats like to say they don't have the votes. Well, unless they have a crystal ball. They won't know what the votes will be. At a minimum the vote will serve as a public record for many years to come of who SUPPORTED the most corrupt and dishonest administration in the history of the United States. My guess is.....that's a list not many will want to be on.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Posted by otterfan (anonymous) on June 25, 2008 at 1:04 p.m. (Suggest removal)

You might as well impeach the whole of congress and every other politician out their as i'm sure they have all done things that not every American likes.
Further, Dennis Kucinich already tried and failed so your shot at the President has already failed much like the factless article you wrote.

everyone should go cry a river. he's a bad president, the economy sucks, and i can no longer afford the pills to get an erection..but 'we' in general, voted them in. his inability to run a country is amazing, and watching him on tv is great for a laugh, but it will be over in november. VOTE!

Bush and Cheney should go before a world court for war crimes. What the hell, the whole Bush cabinet should go as well!

Bush should have fired all the people that were left over from Clinton, (as Clinton did when he got in), and then had the guts to stand up to the Dems instead of the so called 'new tone'. No wonder he got in trouble.
3rd party anyone?

Hey Mel I'm totally down for a third party!!!!!

To paraphrase Reagan: It isn't that liberals are stupid, it's just that they know so much that just isn't so!
Get over it, and prosecute Slick Willy for all his crimes. He got away with too much. I just hope Osama, I mean Obama shows his true colors in time to lose the election!

as27 - - - - Think about it: liberals are tolerant to everyone who shares their ideas, but draw the line if anyone disagrees with them....

Mel says,
"Bush should have fired all the people that were left over from Clinton, (as Clinton did when he got in), and then had the guts to stand up to the Dems instead of the so called 'new tone'. No wonder he got in trouble."
How many in Bush's cabinet have reigned or got booted? I've lost count. Apparently, the ones that left couldn't stomach what he was doing. His press secretary wrote a tell-all book about it already. There will be more. Everone will be trying to cut deals and they'll be ratting each other out once the indictment process begins, after his term. How do you equate Bush's troubles with the leftovers from the Clinton Administration? Does not compute!!!

A lot of the former Clinton people can't talk, because they died in mysterious ways.

ZZZZ Most Corrupt...of our History????? perhaps if you are only 8 years old.
Posted by metasonics (anonymous) on June 26, 2008 at 9:32 p.m. (Suggest removal)
I don't know who would be the most corrupt, but I do know Bush and his Cronies Lied to get us into our first unprovoked war, which has destroyed our economy and cost 100,000 people their lives.
I don't know if "corrupt" begins to describe what these people have done.
Corruption should be allowed or played down.
We have become too complacent, and in doing so, We, much like the people of Germany under Hitler, have allowed War crimes to occur.
I would chose any Clinton over this mess any day, in fact I would chose an 8 year old over these obvious War Pigs!
I have no respect for FOX news ever since Bill O'reily yelled at that 911 victim and told him if his father was still alive he would be ashamed of his son.
"cut the mic, cut the mic,"
Republicans and the Mob both seem to like to operate in silence and run companies as "silent" partners.
thats all FOX news is.
politically slanted and flat-out fabricated hogwash!

The Daily Journal's guidelines for commentary state "... we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not." Nearly every thread I look at starts as some observation or critique of the Journals' coverage or editorial opinion, then quickly devolves into how stupid and shortsighted and un-American you (insert your favorite epithet here; Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, liberals, foreigners, women, camel jockeys, etc) are.
There might be a few more cogent and few less vitriolic comments here if people weren't hiding behind the anonymity of their screen names.
Hecklers shout out from the shadows. People who have the strength of their convictions have the courage to say what they believe in the light of day.

It's not just the Nations leaders who are corrupt. Half the population is corrupt. Most of the rest are uneducated and ignorant and end up paying the price. The way we treat each other is pathetic. The reason the USA is in the mess it's in and the rest of the world just watches in disgust. The USA has become a major embarrassment and a true danger to the rest of the world. The USA is now the biggest debtor Nation on the planet. Ten trillion dollars in debt. That's over a hundred thousand dollars for every American Family. You all can keep doing what you've been doing and vote another village idiot into office. Just make sure you write that check for your portion of that debt when you vote cause the time to pay up is coming. You think the economy is bad. You ain't seen nothing yet. The USA really needs to start looking at the European Countries as a example of how to treat its people, be fiscally responsible, and function as a country in the 21st century. Personally, I'd rather my tax dollars went to free health care and education for everyone rather than bombs and missles.

MGDBOTTLED,
i ABSOLUTELY AGREE THAT THE WAY WE TREAT EACH OTHER IS SHAMEFUL AND DISGRACEFUL.
I have to disagree about the most indebted nation on the planet.
First of all, if we called in all the markers we have with other countries including europe and asia then I can assure you that we would have no debt at all. Also we do approximately 75 trillion dollars in business here in America everyday. That of course includes the international market but lets not sound the alarm just yet. Bush has done some great things for this country, however some very bad ones as well. The government is not entirely to blame here. We have become a society that expects everything to be done for us and when the govenment fails as it inevitably will at times, we moan and complain. If you really think Bush or any president is totally in charge of things then you obviously need to go back to civics 101. The Congress has the ultimate say and if they could get there heads out of their collective place when the sun don't shine then maybe they could get something done. But No, It's a two party system that seems to care more about tearing each other down then building up our country. If you want to complain about Bush make sure you include the whole of congress because ultimately it's up to then, not the president.

Norse, I see the comments for the article about my band have been shut down, which was your goal anyway, right?
to silence your opposition as usual.
a friend of mine said he read earlier that you were posting rude comments about my mother and a suicide victim I knew.
after clicking on your name here I found the comments you posted.
My mother was a nurse for most of her life and most recently died after battling cancer for the past 12 years.
I shouldn't need to explain what is wrong with posts like yours!
I want you to know that despite the sadness I feel after reading these kind of comments, I still believe there is hope for us all!
I won't allow you to take that from me!
how sad is it that the Daily Journal has to routinly, shut down and delete comments on here?
"Your history is a matter of public record." - Norse
what are you talking about?, the fact that I try to raise money to fight breast cancer or the $3,000 I helped raise to save Dawson Rude's life?
Whom I read about "June 27, 2008, tonight Dawson will celebrate his fight against Cancer and the Relay for Life Walk in Fergus Falls"
I offer this young man's struggle and victory over Cancer as evidence that there is hope for us all, even for you "loismustdie, and Norse"

AS27,
First of all, Many, many countires around the world owe the United States government billions, if not trillions of dollars, not just private inverstors, so yes calling in all our markers with them DOES matter. Further, No I will not tolerate socialism in my country which If I remember is a free open democracy based on free will and capitolism. If you want to be a socialist move to China and see how that works out for ya.
Again you blame the government for all your problems. As I have said repeatedly, in this country to either get what you want or not. It all boils down to how hard you want to work. Again it's "what can the government do for me?" When it should be "what can I do for myself".

AS27,
So where are the facts?
You said "nearly every person in the richest country in the world is moderately to heavily indebted" Do you have any facts or stats whatsoever to back this up? Most people I know are not "moderately to heavily indebted". Please bring some facts if you wish to make bold sweeping statements like that about your fellow Americans.

I love the work argument. So out of touch. Dick Cheney is filthy rich, but it's because he works harder than every other American. Jeez of Nazareth, wake up.
