Mailboxes vandalized

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous reports of mailbox vandalism in rural Fergus Falls and Underwood Friday.
Some mailboxes were smashed while others showed damaged from some kind of serrated tool.
Several mailboxes, including a few from the U.S. Postal Service in Underwood, were stolen.
The incidents are similar to those reported earlier in the month, deputies say. Anyone witnessing suspicious activity should report it to the sheriff’s office.

I've often wondered what mailboxes do to people to deserve the pounding that they get. They just sit there, quietly doing their job, day after day, week after week, year after year. It must really make one feel like a big man to be able to destroy such a defenseless object. I wonder if alcohol is ever involved. "Hey man, let's go drink some beer and smash some mailboxes - maybe tip some cows after dark, if our car makes it that far".

that is too funny, i figure they just watched the movie stand by me and thought it looked like fun to destroy the defenseless mailboxes.

I too have often wondered what thrill some dumba$$ gets from smashing a mailbox.
