Improving parks a wise move
Published Wednesday, July 23, 2008
While the Fergus Falls City Council has many priorities when it comes to city and community facilities, modernizing and adding bathrooms and shower facilities at its parks and campground makes sense.
The city has proposed spending $75,000 on bathrooms at each of the five parks over the next five years. Relative to other proposed facility improvements, such as the library or indoor ice arena, making such upgrades is clearly a low-cost, high-yield investment. And based on local public sentiment, spending money to maintain existing facilities is preferred to creating new ones.
For anyone new to Fergus Falls, the city’s park system is clearly a jewel. Keeping the parks that way is a wise move.

Does anyone know where Kennedy Park is? I would bet the majority of people do not know. The city mows it and I have never seen anyone use it. The park has no tables or restrooms. It only has trees. It is just a piece of land called Kennedy park.
