Teen assaults Charities staff
Published Tuesday, September 23, 2008
A 16-year-old female faces felony and misdemeanor charges after assaulting two staff members at Catholic Charities Monday night.
According to Fergus Falls police, the girl punched one person in the face multiple times and wiped blood in the staffer’s eye. She bit another staff person, breaking the skin.
The victims were treated at Lake Region Hospital and released.
Catholic Charities is located at 1010 Maryland Lane, in Fergus Falls. Assaults on Catholic Charities staff fall under the same charges as assaults on law enforcement, police say.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Posted by phoebe (anonymous) on September 23, 2008 at 6:28 p.m. (Suggest removal)
What is wrong with teens these days?! Or is it the parents?!
Posted by currentresident (anonymous) on September 23, 2008 at 8:44 p.m. (Suggest removal)
The parents, definitely. I know of so many parents in this community that you could call right now and have NO idea where there kids are. We aren't talking poor or disadvantaged families either. Actually if everything was transparent you would be very suprised who is in trouble and who's not.

what about a president guilty of election fraud and Republicans supporting and condoning mass murder and lies?
what kind of message is that sending kids?
mark my words, this is only the beginning!
who would Jesus bomb?, who would Jesus Kill?
and then you wonder where kids learned to use violence?

Sounds Like Meth issues, I hear they run rampant in FF especially near an old arcade.

It is both the teens and the parents. These children in the unit are there because of awful situations from all over MN. It most likely is child abuse, that gets these kids where they are, and it is all they know, and affects them mentally, and the unit is there to try to treat the children, and get them back into the mainstream life. The workers deserve combat pay at times with these kids, and yet you have to feel for the kids, as some of things they have been through in their early lives is unbelievable.

The Catholic Charities Secure Residential Intensive Treatment Unit is a secure, inpatient residential treatment facility for male and female adolescents ages 12-18 with an on-site school staffed with Special Education teachers from what I read when I googled it. Since it is a locked down facility I am guessing the kids there have some heavy duty issues they are dealing with.

Cooper, you forgot to sign your post. Did you give up on your election run?

TKay is right.
There is some very heavy duty issues.
Its not skipping school, or drinking type. That is nothing compared to what these kids are here for and most of them are from other areas.

That's an awesome tagline for a candidate in a mostly conservative community. Some people just don't fit in, and never will.
Christ's plan of action
When Jesus returns, the world will not be a tranquil, peaceful place. Of the conditions just before His return, Jesus said, "If that time of troubles were not cut short, no living thing could survive; but for the sake of God's chosen it will be cut short" (Matthew 24:22, New English Bible). Jesus will return to a world on the brink of self-destruction and annihilation.
The Bible further reveals that, instead of welcoming Jesus at His return, the first thing the nations will do is literally fight Him. Revelation 9 describes how enormous armies will be mobilized in the end time, gathering for a showdown against each other in the Holy Land. However, as Christ returns they will instead face off to battle against Him. This will take place at Jerusalem's Mount of Olives, where He will first set foot on earth (Zechariah 14:1-4).
The apostle John recorded a vision of Jesus at His return. Shocking to the sensibilities of some, it clearly identifies Christ as prepared to wage war.
"Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" (Revelation 19:11-16).
This picture is strikingly different from the loving, peaceful demeanor most often associated with Jesus. Since the purpose of the Kingdom of God is to bring about peace for the world (Isaiah 9:7), why does it begin with warfare? After all, one third of mankind will have already been killed in the events leading up to Christ's return (Revelation 9:15, 18).

When Jesus returns, the world will not be a tranquil, peaceful place. Of the conditions leading up to His return, Jesus said, "If that time of troubles were not cut short, no living thing could survive . . ."
Reflecting such misguided perspectives, a 1994 U.S. survey of 1,200 people ages 15 to 35 "found that most of those polled could name no more than two commandments, and as the essayist Cullen Murphy wrote, 'They weren't too happy about some of the others when they were told about them'" (John Leo, U.S. News & World Report, Nov. 18, 1996, p. 16). Such an attitude and approach were prophesied by Jesus when He said, "Lawlessness will abound" (Matthew 24:12), culminating in the terrible events leading up to His return.
But, after Christ defeats the gathered armies, the Kingdom of God will be established on earth. This government of God will be based on His eternal, unchanging law (Micah 4:2; Romans 7:12), which will provide the foundation for a worldwide program to reeducate everyone in God's ways. Of this time God also says, "I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws" (Ezekiel 36:27, New International Version).
KJV - LEVITICUS 11
11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he [is] unclean to you.
11:8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they [are] unclean to you.
you can post bible verses all day, but if you eat ham or touch a football you're doomed.
unless you're an orthodox jew, you probably have no business posting scripture. be sure also to stone your wife to death, and never cut your sideburns.

So you were at Fergus Falls Junior High from 7th grade to 9th grade without being sent away to the states Juvenile detention center with the likes of "where do I find the kids with the switchblades" Tad W (see county jail link)?

I never was in Jr. high, it was called middle school when I attended.
I attended Fergus falls schools from head start though 12th grade and graduated in 1988 while I was 17 years old, after being a student teacher for the last 1/4 of my senior year.
I was awarded two scholarships.
I've never been sent to any Juvenile detention center!
thank you,
Jamie Cooper

Well You sound like you lived a childhood that was fine and upstanding, never in trouble with the law, getting along with your classmates and teachers, maybe to the point of being the teachers pet; Serving your community as a student teacher (what did you help teach?) And graduating with your class with high enough honors to qualify for scholarships! Which scholarships did you receive? Did you put them to good use and continue on your path to academic excellence?
Your mother must have been very proud of you at least from head start on up to 12th grade!

Norse, is your main purpose on these sites just to go after Jamie? It is annoying and gives you quite a bad name on here. Every time I see you name on here you are saying something cruel and mean and belittling towards Jamie....Find something better to do then turning the comments into some childhood temper tantrum.

Hey JL, do a little research, like perhaps going back through all the posts by Heime. You'll note that Jamie Cooper is the one with the temper tantrums, and the one who consistently TRIES to belittle others on this place. Self Centered, egotistical, paranoid, anti-authority, self-righteous, Blind.....And mostly just plain WRONG.

I suppose I should have clarified some of my comment. I was just noticing that recently all your comments have been directed at Jamie. There has been several of your post in the past with very intelligent and well written points, Why let Jamie take you down to this level? Continue with the good points and observations that you have had in the past. You seem like a very knowledgeable person...put it to good use like you have in the past and don't fuel the fire for Jamie.

Thanks JL, and I agree I have wasted time and bytes on a certain someone. My hope and prayer is that this town knows and sees him for what he is, and what he stands for regardless of what spews forth from his mouth or fingers.
May God Bless Fergus Falls! We have a lot of work to accomplish.

Norse, what is it that you think I am?
you call me egotistical and arrogant because I think we all deserve equality?
paranoid, anti-authority because I actually read things like the senates report on intelligence?
you seem to have a big chip on your shoulder against me ever since I pointed out some inherent problems the GOP have given us all and will be leaving for children yet to be born to solve.
heres a great tag line for you Norse,
"who would Jesus slander?"
I sincerely have to question what God it is, you think you are serving with lies and hate speech.
thats right, I'm calling you a fraud!

Nope Heime, the only problem I have is with the fact that you are who you are, acting the way you do, and poluting the world with your spew and worship (wether you know it or not) of the Dark One.
You shall not obtain a position of authority on my watch. I've known you for longer than you can imagine, although we have never spoken.
