Reader: Obama is a very dangerous man

Published Tuesday, October 7, 2008

I read with interest the letter from the woman who attempted (Oct. 3, 2008) to dissuade people that Barack Obama does not embrace non-Christian beliefs of foreign cultures. Of particular interest to me were the quotations she cited from Obama’s book “The Audacity of Hope.”

My attention is drawn to those words where Obama writes “…I was finally able to walk down the aisle of Trinity United Church of Christ and be baptized. It came about as a choice and not an epiphany. The questions I had did not magically disappear.”

I question his conversion because he states it is a choice not an epiphany.

Epiphany is like a bright shining light, a moment when one receives a striking understanding of something; in the case of Christianity, the belief in the Divinity of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Without epiphany, there is no choice, for epiphany sheds that bright light on who is God — in this case, the choice of the Christian God over the god of some foreign cultures.

I might just overlook this statement of Barack Obama but for two things. First, he is noted, exalted, for being a clear-spoken speaker who holds also Messiah-like influence over his followers and he has acknowledged that he had the assistance of some very experienced editors in putting the book together before publication.

In addition, seeing Obama youth marching and chanting “alpha, omega, alpha, omega ... Obama is going to make it possible for me to be a chemical engineer, physical therapist etc. When alpha and omega are words in Christianity used in worship only of the Triune God we clearly have here a case of Obama being worshiped in an idolatrous way as having the same stature as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Not since the days of the Roman Empire when emperors were actually worshipped as gods have we seen such an unrepentant display of blasphemy.

This calls to mind Obama dressed in the attire of a Roman Emperor at his acceptance speech in Denver, he is actually encouraging that he be worshiped as a god by his actions and his very silence toward those who are worshiping him as a god. This leads me to believe he meant what he wrote, and carefully chose the words he used.

Secondly, his mentor for many years in his chosen church was a pastor we now know is filled with a withering anger and hatred for the United States and its people. Jeremiah Wright many times took to the pulpit of Barack Obama’s church to rant and scream, “No! No! NO! Not God bless America, God DAMN America.”

Obama never, that we know of, objected to this hate speech from his pastor until, during Obama’s primary campaign to get the Democrat nomination for president, the media got hold of the vituperous hate sermons of Pastor Wright and aired them.

After several weeks of pressure Obama cut loose his mentor/pastor/congregation to unburden his image of association with this foreign-influenced, anti-American ideology.

While I believe the woman who wrote the letter to defend Barack Obama and his goals, I am left with too many doubts about his real beliefs, his real commitment to any beliefs which might be discarded for political expedience (such as Pastor Wright) and those foreign teachings instilled in his consciousness when he was a young boy in a Muslim madras.

Which belief system will he embrace if he comes to power as president? If he has to confront foreign cultures which hate our Christian nation and peoples?

Barack Obama is a very dangerous man, too many questions, too many uncertainties for America, especially in these dangerous times.

Mr. Truenow,

The most dangerous man in this article is not Obama, its the writer. It’s obvious that you’re looking for justification to reinforce your already formed religious/political agenda. Because Obama used the word choice rather than epiphany does not paint him as a pagan. Because you have chosen to make an issue out of an insignificant choice of words does however call into question your real motivations.

...in related commentary, a vote for McCain might just be a vote for a sleeper cell. See, the way I figure it, five years of being a POW during the Vietnam War under constant interrogation by the Russians is enough time to deprogram and reprogram a "Manchurian Candidate" to eventually bring America down.

Is the writer saying that unless religion comes to you in a flash of light or an epiphany, then it doesn't count?

I agree with you David....But most of the commentors on this website will not. It is very one-sided around here, and like I have said before..People in the dark cannot see the light, they refuse to.
Let him who hears understand.
Thanks for this wonderful article!

Mr Truenow, your fearmongering will NOT work this time. The simple fact that you use Rev Wright's speech is proof that you are trying to deceive. IF you listen to the entire speech, instead of cherry-picked sound bites, you would know that it is not about hating America. Obama '08 !!

Unfortunately, the American voters will have to watch the freak show being forced upon us by the McCain campaign till the first Tuesday in November. This article is a perfect example of the mentality of the McCain campaign. Hopefully, the number of bigots who won't vote for a black man are a very small minority. Maybe, just maybe; if the american voter can show some intelligence and openmindedness, we'll all be referring to Barack Obama as Mr. President come January. Then, we can all get on with the business of restoring America's future for the generations to follow.

The Viet Cong were torturing and slaughtering free Veitnamese people, the same way Al Queda in Iraq are killing free Iraqis, and the Khmer Rouge killed free Cambodians. McCain did kill a few innocent bystanders, no doubt, but the goal was to stop evil. Bystanders died in the American Revolution. If some of my taxes pays for a volunteer army to free oppressed people around the world, I am fine with that. Oppression is responsible for famine, torture, and murder throughout the world. Some soldiers were drafted by a Democrat president and forced to fight, I do have a problem with that.

To Mgdbottled: The fear of many is not based on the color of Obama’s skin. It is based on really not knowing who this guy is….the “man-inside”. He does not have a solid record to let the public know. You are looking for change Mgdbottled…well…be careful of what you ask for. Change is not always good. If Obama is elected president…I will be in his corner…praying that he makes the right decisions…for the betterment of our country. It is going to be a tough job…not matter who is elected!

mcpain08 you are getting to say things that make about as much sense as mesatonics. Just how much time did you spend in Viet Nam or Iraq? Several democratic presidents got over 58,000 killed in Viet Nam, and many more wounded. Why don't you go down to the nearest American Legion or DAV and talk to the men that actually know what they are talking about. People have died to give you the right to run your mouth the way you do. If the US is so bad I personally will send you a one-way ticket to Cuba!!!

oh jerry, the people that died in viet nam did absolutely nothing that allows me to "run my mouth". and i go the american legion all the time, all i see is drunk people playing darts lol. my father is a viet nam vet and he taught me what really went on: rape, murder, and political posturing to prolong the cold war. the viet cong were no threat to the USA. if you don't like it i will personally sent you a one-way ticket to brazil. brazil is so capitalist that there are thousands of homeless children running the streets because there is no profit in helping them.
Capitalist, since when is it our responsibility to police the earth? there are people being slaughtered at this moment, why do we pick and choose who we help? the USA only helps when we have something to gain.
the point is that Obama knows a guy who bombed an empty building because he was sick of McCain dropping napalm on women and children. that doesn't make Obama a dangerous man.

To Profamily: I admit it is a real challenge for McCain to try to present himself other than the “status quo” simply because he is running as a Republican. And we all know that following Bush is a very difficult obstacle…and makes this the “year of the Democrats”…no matter who the Republicans chose to run as their candidate. But McCain is not a true favorite of Republicans. He is truly probably more Democrat than Republican…that is why he portrays himself as “the maverick” as one who possesses the ability to work with both parties….because he has and does. But what McCain does bring to the position of the presidency is a feeling of trust and experience. He has a proven record of loyalty to our country as a POW and of leadership. I fear Obama’s agenda may have leanings towards socialism. Time will tell!

Deregulation would have prevented the current banking problem. Banks were required to loan to people that could not pay the loan back. Jamie Gorelick threatened lawsuits against banks that refused to do so when she was USAG.

Quote from Sir Alex Fraser Tyler from a lecture written in 1801: “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that time on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s great civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependency back to bondage.”
So where is the U.S. on this timetable? My guess is somewhere around the selfishness-complacency-apathy stage - soon to be dependent stage. Bondage to a government’s oppressive laws and taxes (i.e. Europe, 1799s) may be around the corner. The greater responsibility we give our government to take care of our needs, the less responsible we become; thus the greater our dependency. Can we learn from history or are we doomed to repeat it?

Benjamin Franklin did not think that non landowners should be allowed to vote, because they will always vote to benefit from government largesse. Franklin is known to have the greatest mind among the founding fathers, and he was correct.

HERE ARE THE DEFINITIONS OF THE VARIOUS FORMS OF GOVERNMENT
COMMUNISM: You have two cows. The government takes both of them and gives you part of the milk.
SOCIALISM: You have two cows. The government takes one and gives it to your neighbor.
FASCISM: You have two cows. The government takes both cows and sells you the milk.
NAZISM: You have two cows. The government takes both your cows, then shoots you.
BUREAUCRACY: You have two cows. The government takes both of them, shoots one, milks the other, then pours the milk down the drain.
CAPITALISM: You have two cows. You sell one of them and buy a bull.
DEMOCRACY: Everyone has two cows, a vote is taken, and whatever the majority decides to do, you do, and that’s no bull!

Hedge fund managers (market makers) short sold the financial sector into oblivion, creating uncertainty and ultimately a bear market that hasn't bottomed yet. The Republican agenda of deregulation under Bush has allowed this short selling to proliferate. Greenspan, Bernanke, and SEC chairman Cox turned a blind eye to it. There was no enforcement of the uptick rule. We learned why that rule was necessary from past market crashes. But some people really made a killing on it. Why does that sound so Republican. Oh yeah, they're pro-rich, and it's the rich who make most of the big money on Wall Street.

Are you aware Obama campaigned for his cousin running for I believe President in Kenya while a U.S. Senator (Your tax dollars at work). His cousin ran on a Socialist platform and said he would impose Muslim Law on the nation if elected. Obama is a socialist, believes in Marxist ideology. If that is your preferred form of government move to Russia, China, or North Korea and see how you like it. Class warfare is what it's all about. And reading some of the comments I'd say some of you are filled with hate and are not able to think clearly or rationally. I was not aware that the minds of so many Americans have degenerated so far (perhaps from methane use). It explains how Obama, the most ignorant man to run for President in the history of the U.S. is doing so well. It is rather sad that you equate speaking the facts about a candidate with racism. Disappointing that you hide behind an anonymous name to spit your demented vile at other people. Your disregard for the truth may be the demise of you, the country and the whole world.

Fear mongering is a tried and true Republican tactic. Keep everyone afraid and they will vote whichever way you tell them to. It's not going to work this time. People are fed up with your ignorant race baiting and xenophobia. ENOUGH! Senator Obama didn't get to where he is today because he is a socialist Muslim terrorist. He got to where he is today because he is a thoughtful, intelligent, progressive INTELLECTUAL (I know how much Republicans hate that word) who has a vision for this country that goes beyond bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran. Face it. This is a new age of politics and people expect more from our government that the same old business as usual, status quo, deficit spending, war mongering, sabre rattling, anti-intellectual, imperialistic foreign policy and non-existent domestic policy. It's time for change and I can't WAIT to vote on November 4.

Sir Alex Fraser Tyler may be correct Sugarmama, but its actually the elected officials that set the agenda, not the voters.
So which ones are the worst; the Repubs bacause they vote to keep the rich getting richer, or the Dems because they want everyone to have a piece of the American pie?
If you choose the Republican agenda for your own you are a destroyer of democracy, because that is a plutocratic (similar to a monarchy) agenda where a handful of the rich govern and keep the majority, working class oppressed. Isn't there a catch phrase for that? Oh yeah, "the rich get richer, the poor - poorer", AKA: the Republican agenda!

Truenow, you are the fool. I watched as McCain seemingly cowtowed to Brokaw when he begged for more time to counter O'Bama points on . . . whatever. Anyway, he literally seemed to be ready to crawl, tail tucked between his legs, across the floor as he begged for permission.

On the other hand, O'Bama was bold and took control. A good thing? I hope so. After all, we're looking for a leader. Not someone who'll go to his knees for any preceived authority figure, as demonstrated last night. Its scary, McCain and Bush are the same when it comes to religious convictions, they're both Catholics. And the Vatican is headquartered where? They also have strong ties to the Zionist agenda. If you've seen the injustices Israel is perpetrating against the Palestinians lately you'll understand my concern.

Where are the people who have worked with Obama for years and who can vouch for his character? The man remains a mystery! The people who could vouch for Obama over the long term seem not to be people with whom he can appear in public. Who are they? Some we already know, such as Obama’s racist pastor Jeremiah Wright, who called white Americans the “U-S of KKK-A” and asked God to “damm America.” Barack Obama spent 20 years in Wright’s church, regarded Wright as his mentor, and dropped him only when the minister proved politically embarrassing. They were close: Does Obama see the world Wright’s way? Then in 1995 Obama launched his political career from the Chicago living room of Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dorn, well-known, unrepentant, anti-American radicals who bombed the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol in the 1960’s. The only favorable remark he has made about the U.S. court system was in reference to himself, “guilty as hell…but free as a bird”. Obama, who once claimed that Ayers was “some guy who lives in my neighborhood,” appears to have had extensive dealings with the leftist revolutionary. From 1995-1999, Obama worked with Ayers on the Chicago Annenburg Challenge, helping to channel money to educational programs explicity designed to raise political consciousness – that is, to inculcate hard-left attitudes in Chicago schools. According to the Chicago Sun-Times: “Ayers also served alongside Obama between Dec. 1999 and Dec. 2002 on the board of the not-for-profit Woods Fund of Chicago. That board met four times a year, and members would see each other at occasional dinners the group hosted. Ayers is “not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis,” Obama has said. Of those they’ve exchanged irregularly, then which views of Ayers’ does Obama share? Obama’s name has now surfaced in old news reports about meetings of the Democratic Socialists of America, the American affiliate of the Socialists International. His name is in their newsletters as attending their meetings. American citizens have a right to know “what makes this man tick” before the election!

How many of you think it would not matter if Bill Ayres was a friend of yours? The best way to describe Bill Ayres is he is like Timothy McVeigh. McVeigh had an issue with his government and blew up and killed many people. McVeigh was convicted and executed. Bill Ayres is a Socialist, Marxist ideology radical who bombed the Pentagon as well as homes with young children. Bill Ayres committed murder along with his wife and beat the conviction on a technicality. Both are unrepentant and amongst other things told children to murder their parents. Ayres is rewarded for beating his conviction by being allowed to teach in an alternative school best understood as a code word for an ideology bent on destroying democracy as well as capitalism. Obama and Ayres are good buddies, you don't start a political career in a strangers house. Being as closely connected with Ayres as Obama is would disqualify one from a position in the F.B.I. as well as Obama would be disqualified from being his own bodyquard. For anyone to support a candidate for President who hangs around terrorists such as Ayres has to be morally and ethically insane. Such a mindset shows a reckless disregard for life as well as one's own self-preservation.

Let's get the facts straight on the financial meltdown. This goes back to the Community Renewal Act under Carter when banks were required to give home loans to those who couldn't afford them. This was intensified under the Clinton era when laws were made with the purpose of social engineering to force banks under penalty of law to give out more bad loans to people who couldn't afford the mortgages they requested. A fellow named Barack Obama worked for ACORN and taught the workers how to intimate bankers into giving out bad loans with the leverage in place under the Clintonian social engineering. So that is what a community activist does? How sick! Then Fannie and Freddie are created to buy up bad loans that banks were forced to issue. The CEO's of these Gov't monstrosities Johnson and Reigns received multi-million dollar bonuses for buying up these worthless mortgages and showing an asset sheet that looked good. Foreign investors invested in these cooked book assets and were burned big time. McCain tried to blow the whistle on this in 2005 and was met with blocking resistance from Frank, Dodds, and the dems. Because the dems blocked legislation to control these bad loans are whole economy was sent into a tailspin. According to Frank there was no problem and they were going to roll the dice a little longer - right! So here we have a case of the fox guarding the hen house and blaming the farmer for the loss of chickens, that is so wrong it is just sick. Of course the media is not biased, not a word mentioned while the crooks get away with the loot.
It just makes me sick to think that these CEO's of Fred and Fannie are Obama financial advisors and one helped him pick Biden for his running mate. If this doesn't bother you something is terribly wrong. Obama received great kickbacks to his campaign from Fannie and Freddie for supporting these financial "Titantics." The CEO's of this crime should be in prison along with the Enron CEO, so support Obama so his Attorney General will block prosecution or he can give them a pardon should they be convicted. Even Clinton warned of imminent financial danger if Fannie and Freddie weren't put under oversight. CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN! American down the toilet with a Presidential Candidate who has never been responsible for anything in his life. Once the word gets out on this Obama is toast!

Sugarmama. Apparently the only Americans you believe should get handouts from the government are people in the economic class of Donald Trump. McCain is NO Democrat. He wants to continue a 300 billion dollar a year tax break for the richest. He wants to give 4 billion more to the greedy oil companies. He wants to PRIVATIZE Social Security even more than Bush did. He wants to stay in Iraq until "victory" is achieved. With the internal conflict in that country more than a thousand years old that could be forever at 10 billion a month. From where in the world do you get your totally erroneous stuff? From Jerry? Or worse yet, from Rush Limpbrain?

Capitalist. Thank God there were people such as Thomas Jefferson around to stop Franklin on this one. So a vet that's crippled and owns no property should NOT be able to vote? You are a true-red Republican, aren't you? Right through your arrogant, superficial synapses. Anyone reading your post is seeing a part of the Republican Party that they have wanted to keep masked for years, their unfounded, irrational, self-obsessed sense of self-righteousness and absurd superiority. You clearly worship in front of a symbol for money, and not, despite all of the religious distortions among these posts, in front of a crucifix. "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the gates of Heaven." Whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren, that you do also to me." Now go ahead an accuse Jesus of being a "socialist."

Why was this country founded? To go back to a Medieval form of an aristocratic group of capitalists? We had quite enough of that from these thug CEO's on Wall Street. IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE. Not socialism but actual equality of opportunity as guaranteed in the Constitution. Let's make this a country again where brains, hard work, creativity and ingenuity take precedence over political influence, inheritance, and blatant favoritism. There is no wonder about why Republicans favor the status quo because they really don't want to COMPETE in this manner.

You say no to socialism, what will it be when the government is running everything as BarryO plans? You liberals just can't do anything without the government. How about doing something for yourself? Why are you so envious of the Republicans?

Questioning the American Bolshevik views
1. Is wealth redistribution taking money from stockholders and redistributing it to those who don’t pay taxes?
2. Is it more important to make sure that illegal votes are not disenfranchised or making sure that groups like ACORN do not nullify honest votes.
3. Would premature U.S. withdrawal from Iraq grand jihadists a victory and make all of our accomplishments, money spent and lives lost a big waist?
4. Can this country afford to grant socialist Democrats total control of the government and allow them to sacrifice our safety by cutting the military budget by 25%?
Now comes the big question. How do we stop socialism from ruining our lives?
The answer is simple. Don’t vote American Bolsheviks into power and boycott the socialist propaganda media into bankruptcy.
