Area gas as low as $2.74
Published Monday, October 13, 2008
Gas prices fell to $2.74 Sunday night at the Fleet Farm convenience store on Fergus Falls’ west side. Gas was selling for $2.85 at most other Fergus Falls gas stations as of 6 a.m. Monday morning.
Gas prices in Fergus Falls are mimicing prices across the state where Minnesota gasoline prices continue to drop as demand falls, but prices are still around 19 percent higher than last year at this time.
On Monday morning, TwinCitiesGasPrices.com reported prices as low as $2.59 a gallon at several stations in Coon Rapids and St. Francis in the northwest metro area.
MinnesotaGasPrices.com reported gas at $2.62 and $2.64 at some Red Wing stations.
The American Automobile Association reports that the average price of unleaded regular gasoline is down to $3.25 a gallon nationwide. AAA expects gas prices to fall another 25 cents before Thanksgiving.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Posted by cmrx44 (anonymous) on October 13, 2008 at 1:45 p.m. (Suggest removal)
